Frequently asked

Which cars and dongles are supported?

VroomEV is designed for Tesla owners using the S3XY Commander OBD dongle by Enhance Auto. Other CAN-tap dongles speaking the Panda v1 protocol over WiFi may also work, but only S3XY Commander is officially tested.

Do I need to be online to use the app?

No. VroomEV runs entirely on your device. You only need a local WiFi connection to the dongle for live driving data. Simulator mode requires no connection at all.

The connection to the dongle is slow or unstable.

This is typically iOS WiFi behaviour rather than an app issue — iOS deprioritises networks without internet access. Try enabling Auto-Join for the S3XY_OBD network in iOS Settings, disable Limit IP Address Tracking for that network, and avoid simultaneous cellular hand-off.

Why does the engine sound have a small click on loops?

VroomEV uses Hermite interpolation and rhythm-aligned sample loops to minimise loop boundary artifacts. If you hear residual clicks on a specific sound pack, please email us — usually a sample tuning issue we can fix in an update.

Can I request a new engine sound pack?

Yes. Drop us a message with the engine type or specific vehicle you'd like. We add packs based on demand and licensed sample availability.

Is VroomEV affiliated with Tesla or Enhance Auto?

No. VroomEV is an independent third-party app. Tesla, Model S/3/X/Y, and S3XY Commander are trademarks of their respective owners.

How do I get a refund?

App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted directly through Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds ourselves.
